After delivering his famous “Mountaintop” speech to the striking sanitation workers in Memphis, a weary Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. enters Room 306 in the Lorraine Motel to rest. The lonely night is interrupted when a mysterious motel maid, delivering coffee to his room, disrupts his evening and forces him to confront questions about his doubts and fears. “The Mountaintop” by Katori Hall is a very human and very spiritual look at Dr. King on his final night.
New Route Theatre presents “The Mountaintop” featuring Gregory Hicks as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Fania Bourne as the feisty motel maid.
